There is a wide range of industrial actuator products and redundant servo actuators for uav's "unmanned air vehicle" / rpv's "remotely piloted vehicle" available, please make your choice.
PEGASUS industrial servo actuators are electromechanical drive units of extraordinary power density, precision and reliability.
They consist of a rugged water and dust protected aluminum case. This case comprises a robust steel reduction gear-train, a BLDC or DC motor, and a micro controller managed pc-board.
A precision sensor coupled to the output shaft closes the contol loop. PEGASUS servo actuators can either be operated by PWM signal with TTL level, differential PWM signal (RS485 transceiver) or RS485 data protocol.
Following our customers requirements meanwhile all Pegasus servo actuators are equipped with our state-of-the-art „PA-ME“ contactless-angle-sensor and come with a standard deflection angle of ±90° (enlarged travel angles on special request).
Another valuable option is our integrated „PA-SC“ gear-train protection system to safeguard the actuator gear-trains against destructive shock loads without compromising the actuators resolution and torque output in any respect. All Pegasus servo-actuators come with identically aligned output shafts.
Our actuators are specified for an operating voltage of 6 - 32 Volt. Alternative voltages on request.
The PEGASUS PA-R-205-4, despite its comparatively small size, it is suitable for all kinds of industrial motion / remote control applications demanding extraordinary reliability and service lifetime.

The PEGASUS PA-R-250-8 is the right servo actuator for applications with high demands on powerful torque and high speed positioning. With its BLDC - technology (brushless DC motor) and PA-ME contact-less sensor it combines extraordinary reliability and precision.
Characteristics:
Continuous torque | 300 Ncm |
Max. torque | 500 Ncm |

One of our industrial customers asked for a high output version of our proven PA-R-250-8 actuator product. We implemented High Output Brush Less DC Motor technology, we refined the gear-train and the servo case design. The PA-R-250-9 type actuator is the result. Its power-to-weight relation speaks for itself.

For controlling unmanned systems, quality RC hobby servos and high grade multipurpose industrial actuators have become firmly established within the unmanned systems community. Although a lot of effort has been invested to improve the reliability of such servos, there is still one main drawback: Any kind of component failure can result in a total loss of the system. Particularly in unmanned helicopter applications, there is little chance to support system reliability by adding more actuators to operate the main rotor swash plate or the tail rotor sufficiently in case of an actuator failure.
To overcome these disadvantages we, at Pegasus Actuators GmbH, have developed the world’s first small electro-mechanic redundant servo actuator enhancing servo-actuator reliability to an unparalleled level. The new product features two BLDC motors, a triple redundant PA-ME³ contact-less sensor unit, multiple redundant digital servo controller boards, multiple redundant master controller boards and a redundant servo signal and power supply. Therefore our redundant actuators even tolerate failures like a defective power – or signal cable. In difference to our industrial grade actuators our redundant actuators feature a unique single point failure tolerant system architecture. The Pegasus redundant servo actuator is a Stand-Alone solution, meaning that all redundancy related process cycles are performed internally by the actuator. The advantage: No additional engineering for modified A.P systems, no redundancy related decisions to be proceeded by the A.P. system, only necessary requirement is that we need two identical channels for each redundant servo actuator. In case of a component failure a specific warning signal will be reported . Our redundant actuators will perform their full torque, rotational speed and bandwidth – even after a single point failure incidence. For more detailed info please ask for related documentation.
Typical Applications:
For optionally piloted vehicles (OPV) Pegasus offers a variety of actuators with additional (PA-RA-3 and PA-RA-4 type) electromagnetic clutch assemblies attached. These are available for all models starting with the PA-R-250-8 standard actuators and PA-RR-260-8 redundant actuators. The actuator output shaft can move freely with the electromagnetic clutch disengaged allowing the pilot to control the vehicle. In the event of an system failure, the clutch can be disengaged and the pilot has full control. The clutch output is directly coupled to the internal deflection angle sensor of the actuator, meaning that the OPV servos will not lose position if the clutch is disengaged. The clutch can also engage or disengage in any position.
